Louis P LaBarber
Dr. LaBarber is the Founder of Psychotherapy Associates of Niagara (1992) and now semi-retired. He stopped accepting new patients two years ago, but continues to provide care to his current and former patients. He earned his MSW in 1975 and his PhD in Counseling Psychology/Counselor Education in 1979 from St Louis University. He is a licensed Clinical Social Work Psychotherapist in New York and Nevada. Dr. LaBarber was previously Department Chair of the Social Work program at Niagara University where he served as an Associate Professor. He served on the Medical School faculty as a Clinical Instructor of Family Medicine and Director of Behavioral Science at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St Louis, Missouri and at the Niagara Falls Memorial Family Practice Residency program. He cares for a full spectrum of mental health problems including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, grief and loss issues, chronic illness, relationship issues, trauma, personality disorders, and sexual dysfunction ( a certified Sex Educator and Therapist).
